About Bikeworx

Bikeworx opened its doors for business in Maynard Massachusetts in 1997, and at that time the entire staff consisted of owner Galen Miller and stepdaughter Danielle Loomis. By that time Galen had already spent 15 years fixing everything from lawnmowers to front-end loaders, and was racing and fixing motorcycles for fun and profit. The fun turned fairly serious in 1999 when Galen won the Scorpion Cup race in Daytona against national-caliber competition.

Galen followed that season by winning the super-singles class in the highly competitive Loudon Road Race Series in 2000 (repeating in 2003), and in 2001 Galen beat all comers at the Daytona Race of Champions in both Super Singles and Lightweight Sportsman classes. Bikeworx-built race bikes and motors have gone on to win many championships for riders in regional and national competition.

All this success on the race track rightfully earned Galen a reputation as a guy that could get the most power and performance out of a motorcycle while still preserving reliability. Singles racers in particular began to show up at Bikeworx for engine and chassis work and maybe even a little advice.

Bikeworx still supports racers with motorcycle sales, service and performance upgrades, and Galen continues his racing success in endurance events these days, winning the Formula USA 200-mile Team challenge race at New Hampshire International Speedway in 2002 with co-rider Paul Luevano.

Today the business employs 6 people and has expanded into new and used motorcycle sales, parts and accessories, and helmets and apparel. The heart of the business is still centered on the service side though, and Bikeworx enjoys a loyal and growing family of customers that appreciate quality, value and personal service. Bikeworx remains focused on the needs of its customers, and offers night and weekend hours, state inspections, and excellent prices on tires, installed while customers wait (by appointment).
